With the gentle shift for major OEM’s and Tier 2&3’s to outsource more and more technical publications requirements, Mike talks about the key data points he is seeing that is driving this trend and where organisations are now slowly investing more time, money and energy. We as technical communicators must be aware of this trend, this shift, this move, especially if we need to remain current and relevant to our organisations.

With aerospace and some of defence organisations now establishing Innovation Teams, now is the time for us as modern information specialists to rethink our career strategies, adding to our skills tool box should be at the forefront of our minds with many traditional technical authors already accepting the challenge of learning new information production and deployment capabilities!
